Baby doll dresses and tops are made of empire waist and looses down to the hips. It’s like a common missy wardrobe that makes one look pregnant when she is not. It’s a style that has been in the fashion world since the 60’s and 70’s and has been revived in the early 90’s. Women look attractive in baby doll dresses and tops as most of it comes in sleeveless, spaghetti straps or Sabrina sleeves. The attractiveness is derived mostly from the neckline and shoulder line but starting from under the bust, the clothes starts to loosen down to the hips. 

For women plus sizes, this seems to be the perfect wardrobe to hide belly bulges. And mostly, it emphasizes the bust as the clothes fit within this area. In effect, women plus sizes feels comfortable. Aside from the fact that it does not touch too much skin on the belly, it creates a contracting appearance from the perfect fit of the bust up and looses from the upper waist down. In fact, most women in plus sizes have baby dolls on their closet. They wear it for special occasions, casual days or even when lingering at home and in the neighborhood. 

But baby doll is only one style in clothing. No matter how conscious women plus sizes feels about their sizes, it can’t always be worn. Otherwise, they would be misunderstood as pregnant all throughout. There are many styles in clothing that are suitable for plus sizes in the market today other than the baby doll. Whether those are tops, dresses or blouses, women plus sizes surely can wear variety of clothing and styles especially that there are rising exclusive plus sizes stores today. Women plus sizes just need to get away from the idea that baby doll is the only suitable style for them.
